Junior robbed while camping

That really sucks. Hope your insurance does cover it. On a lighter note I just picked up a similar camera at a truck stop on my way through michigan for only $100 bucks.

too soon?....ok sorry. lol. Did you still have a reciept or some kind of physical proof of the camera to present to them?

Theres a guy on our local Socal forums on RC that got some camera gear jacked. Its horrible! It was his profession too! he started selling corals and Reef equipment to replace it. If the insurance doesnt help then maybe you can resort to frag packs of some sort.
Sorry to hear about it

dang on a campn trip too... im always cautious on my camping trips :/ sorry to hear about that

That sucks! Good news is... U can get whatever is new from Nikon. :D

That is just so sad and makes me mad as a wet hen....nothing, NOTHING is lower than a thief. The sad part is, it was someone who was there at the campground with you...saw you with the camera and marked you. Others there, especially regulars know who the slimeball was but won't open their mouths. My best advise for others...never leave anything in plain view...the usual crack head or meth lovin, low down no good dirt bag just can't help themselves...they would break into your car for an ashtray full of change. Hope ya had the serial number registered...when they bust some dope dealer your camera will be with the loot. If you can give the police the serial number, they can enter it in the data base and it will pop out your name and info if it's ever recovered. Good luck and a pox on the scum that took your camera.

I feel your pain Junior. Just got my new laptop. Theives broke in my house last Monday took 2 laptops and 2 flatscreen TVs. It seems like I will never catch a break.

Man this sucks...I really hate thieves. What camp ground was it Jr? Here in Michigan?

Sorry for the loss, hopefully the Insurance will just cut you a check, then you can go shopping for a new cam

Talk about putting a damper on the weekend. Like many have already said. For me it’s not about the money part but more about the consistently growing inability to be able trust others. I’m only in my mid 30's and it is amazing how different things are today compared to when I has a kid. it is scary to think what it will be like when my kids are grown

That stinks Paul, unfortunately I know exactly how you feel. I had my EOS 3 stolen from my jeep, and years ago, I had lost a Minolta x-700 also stolen.

Good news is the insurance covered the loss both times. I wonder how it would go now that I have an EOS 1D???? They are a bit more expensive.... like your D300.

Camera thef is the worst. Any item can be replaced except for the pics in a camera. If I was so inclind to thieve a camera (I'm not) I think I would leave the memory card behind.

Nope, if you were a thief you'd take it all!

That really sucks Junior. To me it's not only the loss of something that I consider valuable, but also the realization that I and "my space" have been "violated". Just makes me angry more so than if I had simply dropped the camera out of the boat. On top of that it put a damper on your weekend.

Sorry, hope your insurance comes through. Think about this; maybe this could be an opportunity to "upgrade"! :haha:

Good luck with insurance Junior'' I had around $10.000 worth of tools and material stole off one of my serves trucks about 5 years back and even with contractors insurance on ever thing i just ended up with 3500. out of it.

That is just aweful! I hope your insurance treats you well.

Hopefully what comes aroung goes around for the scum sucking theif!

Dude, so sorry to hear that. People with the gall to just take what others have worked and sacrificed for really boil my blood. I've had my camera stolen out of my car, while parked in my garage, in the past, so I can fully sympathize. I certainly hope insurance will replace it for you. That's a nice setup, and spendy too.

Sorry to hear what happened. We have gotten packages stolen off our front porch and I live in a gated community which really means nothing. Thieves are the worst. THey will never amount to anything and Karma will catch up to them. I hope your insurance covers the theft. Keep us posted.

That's terrible. Don't let it get you down.

Sorry to hear that such a joyous occasion turned sour like that. As others have said, I'm a firm believer in karma...although that's the last thing I'm sure you're thinking about.

I remember when I was around 14, a new kid moved into my parents neighborhood and we quickly became "friends." Needless to say I guess he used the friendship to scope out my parents garage. Long story short, stole my BMX bike, skateboard, and even my skate shoes...it's even worse when you know the person who did it and there's nothing you can do about it.

Keep your head up....we'll be expecting some sweet pics with your new camera (once you get things settled with the insurance).
