Hey all, been away from reefing for awhile after I poured a gallon of soapy water into my tank a few years ago by mistake.(thought it was my R.O water)(was a Nuvo 16 and it was midnight and i had nothing ready to save it)

After that I quit. I'm back though and excited to get this tank filled out.

Just got a second a160 so I can get anenome and some sps in a few months and it just got here so I figure nows the time to make a post.

Equipment so far.

Sicce 1.5 return pump
A150 Kessil and A160 Kessil for lighting (Now two a160's and 2 T5 Retro)
Mp10 (idk what model, was on my old tank)( Now 2- MP10QD's)
Diy ATO (float switch cut into pump plug and a 5 gallon bucket)( Now Tunze 3155)
Aquabuddy R.O (Now BRS 5 stage)
Random equipment (Digital Thermometer, Test kits, etc..)
Custom Built stand, pretty sketchy looking but solid.
I use Red Sea Salt (Blue bucket)

Tank has been running for 2 months, cycled about a month ago.

LiveStock
Bonded pair of Black Ice Clowns
Skunk Cleaner Shrimp
Emerald Crab (Gone, tore my acans up)

I plan to get a sixline wrasse for my last fish (Suggestions?)(got one)
I also plan to get a BTA Variant in 4 months (got one)(removed for more coral space)

Ordered from Tidal Gardens for the first time. Great packaging and everything opened up pretty much right away.

Looking great!

Very nice, I have the same tank just waiting to get started.

My lighting will be provided by the Aqua Illumination Prime HD LED

Will go bare bottom with lps, zoas, and mushrooms

Very nice man! I have one of these and its the easiest tank in the world to manage - 50% water change weekly that takes me 5 min!

Are you using a protein skimmer; 50% water change per week sounds extreme. Do you have a large bio load?

just trying to learn
I have a DOC 9000 that I used for a couple of months. Not very impressive IMHO. May put it back on just to draw air for a CO2 scrubber (very tight house / high CO2 leading to sub optimal PH in tank). The tank itself is full of chalices that I saved from a larger tank that I lost to hurricane Irma. I feed them fairly heavily 2x a week so 50% works well for me. May not be right for you though.

Yup, 6 stage RODI unit from bulkreesupply. 10 gallons of water takes an hour, hour and a half to make. I use RedSea salt (mixes in about an hour). No buffering, no additives.

Thank you, what are you using to test your salinity after each new batch of RO water
I use a Milwaukee Digital refractometer - around $100 bucks.

However regular - non digital that is temperature compensated works fine as well - about $20 bucks.

Regardless of the device you use you should score some calibration solution to go with it.

hey guys are these pods? I know the picture sucks.
i ask because i added some pods about 2-3 weeks ago from my lfs (live onsite aquaculture) added them per algaebarn/store instructions and forgot about them

Yesterday i moved a rock and shook it to get a snail unstuck (wedged himself in there for 2 days) and then these little moving things are all over my glass. They move real slow but definitely move. I just want to make sure they arent some flatworm or something.

Im sick of the dry rock look so i ordered some live rock form arcreef.com
