Hmmm, but you want the Kalk to settle out. You don't want that stuff to go into the tank. This is why it's mixed in another container and the clear poured into the ATO container.

yeah that's what i thought.. although don't those kalk stirrers keep stirring it a bit? but those make sure the water from the very top of the reactor goes into your tank?

idk, this kalk stuff might not be for me. maybe i'll just buy a dosing unit and hop to on two part..

the pH boost and cost of kalkwasser seemed so nice though!

Yes you are right, they stir every so often and draw from the top.

Kalk is really not hard. You may have a low need for it but once it's dialed in it gets real easy.

You do not want to stir kalk at all. reactors work different from the ATO, BRS has good videos on this and why you should never stir an ATO. you want the top and the bottom to be completely undisturbed and you want your ATO to only use the clear water in the middle. In a kalk reactor its different your getting water as it stirs in a really slow drip and your only dripping the clear part to thats at the top.

i actually think, now that i'm watching that video again, i didn't stir mine enough. i had heard you don't want to overstir, so i just barely gave it a quick stir. worst case my kalk would've just been less potent..
