Kat's Esoteric Biotope

Yay for crappy tank pictures, lol
So maybe the GSP grafts are visible in this picture. Except for 2, they are all still ****** but coming around.

GOLDILOCKS JUMPED!

I found her yesterday evening on top of the filter floss still breathing. I threw her back in the tank. She was funky looking with rigor mortis for a few minutes before pffaffing off. Aiyayiyai.
She is still alive and ate some mysis. These fish I swear, they will give me a heart attack one day.

:)

Thanks. I'm waiting on the GSP to get happier on the branches. Then some more-moving-rescaping and some nice pictures to show it all.

I has sand. And crap. :behindsofa:
Had to put it all back in but rest assured the sand will be s(t)and alone.

Thank you. As the tank has settled down from the sand, and the tree is "blooming", and well guess what. Every coral I ever grafted on there is blooming! Ha Ha. I was so upset when the blue cloves weren't doing anything but sitting in the very tiny bunches that I had glued but wow it has been 4 weeks and they look happy. They still haven't spread but they are still there. I'm curious to see which coral will outcompete the other between the GSP and the blue cloves.

My update for this weekend is not a good one. Temperatures have been high this past week and then falling at night. It has been very difficult to keep temperatures stable in this little tank. Throw a fan on it and it cools rapidly to a low temperature, keep it closed with the lights on and it goes high very quickly. Evap has been nuts because of that too and in such small volume, the salinity has to be swinging madly.
As a result the corals are not happy and not opening up. I was really hoping to take some close-of-competition photos to round off my content entry but that didn't happen.

I'm going to try to keep everything stable tomorrow and hopefully that will give me some happy corals and pictures.

I KNOW RIGHT!!!
Picos are tricky. This contest is the first time Ive ever done such a small tank... MUCH harder to keep everything happy.
I hope you get your pics, because Im DYING to see your tank all finished :) Its one of my favorites. Lots of hard work. Good luck!:hippie:

Ugh, tell me about it. I jury rigged this to help. I should win for best Ghetto setup.

I feel some pictures coming on in a little bit!!!! I'm so sad to see the end of the competition, it has been so much fun putting this tank together.

I promise you there will be pictures. I'm all set, just waiting for night fall. The tank faces windows and the glare is reflected. Maybe I can get a screen set-up to hide the glare in the mean time. hmmmmm

Went up to 81.5 and lowest when the fan was on was 73.
I've been watching it like a hawk last few days and it has stayed between 78-79 give or take.
I turn the fan on or off, add a touch of water, do whatever needed to keep it stable. Corals have responded favorably and my neon is no longer threatening suicide.
