Keith's IM Nuvo EXT 100

Looks great so far. I would put another union right below the overflow so you would be able to remove the section of pipe. I put unions at the beginning and end of every straight section, before every section with bends, and before valves unless they are built in. I also use them before and after the manifold so it can be removed and/or added on to.

How did you take the side panels off your stand? Also looks like you have magnetic door latches on the side. Did you modify or did it come like that?

Great job so far!

It appears to me his stand has side doors... that must be new for the 100ext...

My APS stand just came in on Monday. No side doors just panels.
Bummer, could be the luck of the draw? I know the 200 ext has side doors so maybe they are transitioning and some old stock is rolling out. My 50 ext from a few months ago does not have side doors.

Yeah, same here...my order arrived a couple of weeks back and no side doors. I may call Paul at IM and see if that is something that could be retrofitted. It would make maintenance MUCH easier.

I got mine Monday and have the doors.

I just spoke to Steve and said the people that guy side doors got lucky. The stand has not even been released yet. I will be a 250 up charge but you can not even purchase it.

He wouldn't send me a side door or even allow me to purchase it. Obviously disappointed he didn't find a way to make it right and offer no solution to my problem which this would have solved.

Not sure what I am going to do but feel a little PO right now guess I just was not one of the lucky ones.

Sorry to hear that CJ. I would feel the same way as I expected the doors having seen them in someone else’s thread. Is it possible to remove the side panel without disassembling the stand? Could maybe build or have built some doors.

Hello everyone!! Sorry I have not posted in awhile. Here is my completed dry fit. I will hopefully have everything plumbed in the next week. What do you guys think? Should I add any more unions?? So excited to have a sump!

Your plumbing looks good! I have the same tank and sump as you (you brought it to my attention). The only thing I would suggest is have a union on the returns near the final elbow. That way if you ever need to take the tank off the stand the pipe won't stick out past the bottom of the tank. Can't wait to see it wet!

Thanks Mike. I will be added those unions per your suggestion ASAP. Great thinking!

I only thought of it because I will have to take my tank off the stand to move it into the house.
I was wondering if you decided not to include a manifold? I don't see the one you built in your recent pictures. I am thinking about adding one to mine.

I’m building one but will add it later after the tank is up and running

What’s up peeps! Not much of an update on the build but I did pick up a 25 watt UV from BRS. I plan on hard plumbing it the true, closed-loop way. I know it’s not the most aesthetically pleasing way to plumb UV but optimum performance is my goal, along with suburb water quality. I plan on running either a VARIOS 2 or SICCE pump at a lower setting to treat fish diseases/parasites. I’m really not sold on its effectiveness at keeping algae at bay after watching BRS investigates. I will try to install it on the backside of the tank(prob mounting to the wall) in a way that allows me to access it for easy maintenance. It will be mounted upright so I can access the bulb. I will also scape the rock around the pump so it’s hidden yet accessible. I still have a lot more research to do on other equipment. Hopefully the tank is plumbed in the next few weeks.
