Kessil 360 crapping out at only 6 months!!

My two 360's been fine for two years, once they stopped but because an abundance of dust around the fan, blew it out and they are fine, but in the beginning I noticed some lint or something under the glass, I called and they sent me out two new ones and I sent the old ones back, great customer service!!

I use two T5 with my two Kessils, I use cheap ones that I bought from Amazon , they are used to grow plants, one plug , no bulky transformer and you can plug one into the other and so forth, I think I paid $35 a piece and use ati or giesmann bulbs, probably not as bright as those retrofit ones but cleaner looking and not as heavy, sunblaster is the name, I hang them with zip ties from my light supports!!

Here are some pics with the lights off. I staggered the T5s to give better end coverage.

Looks like I'm stuck running with half the tank a little bluer than the other. My accountant says we can't afford a 700 $ T5 fixture right now.

+1. I run A160's with my ATI T5 can't beat the combo

I'm looking at going this route as well. Currently running a 360we with a 160 we on either side. Tanks a Reefer 250. 22" depth I believe. Do you think a 4bulb 39 watt ATI fixture will suffice with 2 160's or go with a 6?

What type of corals are you keeping?

Mixed reef. Legitimately about a 50/50 split.
4 bulb should work but if you have a more SPS dominant you may want 6 bulb. I run a 6 bulb with 2 A160's in a 24in deep tank. I can grow SPS no problem on the bottom of the tank. Its bare bottom also so no sand interfering with depth.

Thanks for the info it's certainly helped as I have no T5 experience to reference. I'm more confident in the 4 bulb now. I really want to keep the mixed reef, as tricky as it seems to be keeping everything happy.

Yeah, the thing about a mixed reef is that it's like a bunch of teenage girls...someone is always unhappy ;)
