Good morning!
I programmed the VDM module to control kessil lighting. Always had the spectral controller. Has anyone have experience on the vdm turning on the lights 3 hours earlier? It’s on time with the spectral controller. Please help
Thanks

I use the VDM module for my Kessil lights. Perhaps nobody has answered because it's unclear (to me at least) what it is you are asking.

I set my time 1130 to 2330 but it turns on the lights at 0830
Not sure why it’s happening like this. Spectral controller has no problem
Thanks

yes, the VDM should work with a Kessil if you wired things right. (Ground and each of the two control Voltage connections for 0-10Volts). One Pair for Intensity (dimming) and One Pair for Spectrum (Blue to White) control.

If you have a proper Y-cable then you are all set, just plug into VDM and other into two ports on Kessil.

Manually test ON/OFF (where OFF=0volts, and Fully=ON is 10volts) on Intensity. Not spectrum. Light should turn fully bright, or OFF.

Then go to AUTO and move the SLIDER around to 30%, 50%, etc. The Kessil should get brighter and brighter.
Lower down to 0% and it should turn off.

You can do the same for Spectrum, and you should see it go from White, to mid Blue, to Fully Blue.

Mine Kessil actually turns off at around anything lower than 10%.

If that works, then just schedule it with your Apex. A few ways to choose how bright you want your Kessil through the day (Thru Apex Direct Web Page, or thru Fusion). Dim up, down, or whatever.

To check your APEX scheduling (TIME) is correct, schedule something else (like an outlet) and see if you clock/time is accurate.

Is your apex set to the current time? Screenshot of your programming will help too.
Yes. Los Angeles time

There’s no problem with turning on and off. It just turns on at 0830 instead of 1130

Is it the same (Time offset 3 hours) with an outlet?

Your screenshot show your Apex time is 21:xx hrs. Is that the current time? (Is time correct?)
If not then you could be set to a different timezone then where you are.

I don’t use the outlet anymore with the vdm. The outlet turns on at 1130. I plugged my spectral controller into the outlet instead. I haven’t used the vdm since it started doing the 3 hour early thing. Really confused

I used the aquabus for the vdm
The kessils connects straight to vdm and vdm to the eb832
Using the spectral controller on outlet one now and no problems. Lights on and off at scheduled times

Yes it’s correct. I’m in California

My question was is that the Right Time? When you look at the Apex Time is it the time where you are?
I don't know where you live or what timezone you are in.
So is it 22:xx hours when you look at you phone. (Does your Cell Phone time, match Apex Time?)

IF NOT, then your APEX timezone may need adjustment to Match, and Same for APEX Daylight Saving time.

Yes it matches

That's weird. But at least eliminates that your time is good, and things should schedule properly.

Do you control any outlets? And do they turn on or off at the right time? That would be next test.

For some reason your VDM/Kessil is turning ON 3 hours too early. Doesn't make sense.
Late by an hours or whatever I could understand if your intensity wasn't enough to turn it on.

Does it turn OFF 3 hours too early as well?

I got more ideas to troubleshoot, but first let's hear your answers.

WE can muck around. I can show you logs. We can look at the Internal Schedule, not Fusion....We can compared my working VDM/Kessil to Yours, etc.
But if you want a quick Fix Call Neptune or open a ticket. They will fix your issue in minutes.

I can tell you that the Setup Works and Mine turn/on and off at right time.

Thanks for ur help. It turns off at exact time. All the outlets are good. I don’t use outlet one anymore but it still turns on at 1130. It’s just the vdm that turns on 3 hours early. I’ll try to call Neptune but if u can help that will be much appreciated.

I love challenges. So you do your ticket and we can try and crack this mystery (together).
Do you only use Fusion, or do you know how to access the Apex Web Page Directly (sorry, some folks only use Fusion)

If you know how to using your Web Browswer http: //YOUR Apex IP address) and log in as "admin" default password if you haven't changed is "1234"

Then click on the VDM OUTLET that represents your Kesil Intensity. If the OUTLET isn't there (find the EDIT on Dashboard and Drag it out)

It should then show a box with the Times and Values
Like mine

Shown in RED is the 2pm time, and BLUE is the Intensity. (I turn on my Kessil at 2pm, 10% Intensity)

Your's should look similar but your timestamps should be 11:30 and intensity should be 15 Just like your screenshot.

Those Data points are what show up on your Apex Fusion Graph.

Let's see what you got, and then we can check the real Apex time (just a double check)

I find the wizard for ramping my kessils to make no sense so I still do it the 'old fashioned' way by creating ramp profiles and then writing them into the outlet program. I have to do it for both the color and the intensity channel for each set of lights. This is the one for intensity. Color is similar, I just ramp the color less than intensity to keep a bluer look.
