I know this is wayyyy late but OMG YOU SAVED MEIf the rollers went bad on the dosing pump it could but you would need both the draw pump and empty chamber pump fail at the same time plus the seloniod inside. 3 years along side of my one tank no issues..
Yes - there is three rollers. If you have your worst bad hair day ever and only a doser pump connected - they can theoretical stop exactly in that position (we are talking in µm here) that no roller squeeze the internal tube at all/very little and there is a tiny, tiny, tiny chance that you get a backflow. If the dosing pump is connected to a KH or Ion director - I´ll think the chance is lesser than that MAC and Windows will be compatible one daySo the pump has rollers that rotate in a sealed environment thus creating suction and water flow

of other concerns. The joint between the suction tube (from the aquarium) and the pump head can can come loose. I have one pump where i can theoretical empty my 300 L aquarium into a 500 mL bottle. As chicken is my middle name - I have a check valve on the pressure side. Mostly because there is a chance that the tube can loosen in the joint that comes after the pump head and a backflow will be created. To use a check valve for the sample suction tube of both ION and KH director can affect the result - I will not recommend that. I´ll think there is a real risk of disaster - but not because a back flow through the pump head but because that the sample tube can be loose from the intake of the pump head. If you can fix a hose clam that fix both the 6 mm suction tube and the 4 mm pump head tube - you will be safe for thatUnfortunately it'll have to go in the cabinet under the tank(wife says so)Yes - there is three rollers. Never the less - I always have my pumps over the actual water levelof other concerns. The joint between the suction tube (from the aquarium) and the pump head can can come loose.
