Kill BTA's ?

Definitely don't kill them, they'll likely nuke the tank. And you could get a bunch of money for those guys. Seriously- rainbow BTAs? $50 easy for a good-sized one, most likely. Hell, if you sold all those at $20 each (which I bet you could get people to drive pretty far to pick up), you'd get some decent cash.

Second the recommendation of the powerhead. Anemones don't like that. When they want to move away from something, they inflate their foot, which makes them super easy to peel off by hand. You could also hold some ice cubes (in a ziploc bag) against them to make them start to move away, or cover them with a big shell or something of the sort. I don't think BTAs have much of a sting? Pretty sure you can handle them without any discomfort, and I know they're not dangerous. If they're uncomfortable for you to touch, latex gloves ought to do the trick.

selling here for $50 each...
Here they are 80 to 250 in stores , 40 to 60 reefer to reefer. Easy money if they reproduce like pests>(
I would just aim a powerhead at them and when they start to move, scoop them up and sell or trade to LFS. You can put them in a cheap breeder box or such.

I would not want a dying BTA in my tank. They smell pretty bad too if you touch your hand on a dying nem.... wash your hand like 10 times in hot water and soap and the stench is still there :p
To many others corals to point a power head at. Going to try the pipe and the suction to see which one works best. My bet is on the pipe method or neither.

You won't have to point the powerhead at it for long. They'll start to move in under an hour, probably. It'll annoy your other corals, but won't hurt them, unless you have some really fleshy LPS somewhere under those anemones. Everything else will just retract and be annoyed.

The pipe is probably a good method. I'd imagine suction would potentially tear them into pieces, which would leave you with large chunks of decaying anemone still attached to the rocks.

Again, Power head is no option. To many other corals. I’m not talking 1 anemone it’s more like a dozen.;)

Another option would be to get a baby sea turtle. They eat anemones. But these days it may be difficult to impossible to get one...

It won't hurt your other corals to temporarily move a powerhead to annoy the anemones into letting go. Do you mean you physically can't point a powerhead at the anemones because corals will block the flow?

can

It can't be done in my tank as it's full of corals. it's not worth the chance of breaking a coral. Again, i'm not talking just 1 anemone.

Does anyone have a way of easily killing BTA's. Something like Kalk. but more potent? Ice, lemon juice, powerhead, removing rock aren't good options.
BTA's are like the Aiptasia of my tank so no Anemone Police responses please.

You came into this hobby for a reason, you probably introduce a BTA in your tank and now they are thriving inside the tank. I think the best thing you can do is get out of this hobby and kill them all at once.

You're an angry elf aren't you? Everything in my tank thrives. Anemone Police, too funny!

dang, and it is one of my favorite pet in the tank now, and I just spent 150 this weekend ago on it and here I thought I had something valuable lol.

But kidding aside I'm thankful it's doing really good after a couple of days. Good luck on your mission man.

Lol. I told you. It’s easy peasy. No brainer.
make new saltwater and water change them. Take 1” tubing, anemone are mostly water. Suck them up, chop them up with a blade and suck them all out. 1” tube can suck out 24” anemone with a blade. Not brain surgery. Turn your pumps off and get it all out. Foot also. Massacre. Have a buddy help. Try to get out all the polluted water you cause. Let skimmer take out the rest. I get it, reefers are flakey and sometimes not worth the time...

But, I agree with most, rearrange your precious corals, move them, pull the nems and sell. Not hard. Your corals will be fine moving, removing, relocating, and what it takes to make it happen. Moved coral will relocate and look fine a week later. No biggie. Your reef is living, and will adapt and transform and heal according to YOU, don’t let your reef own you, own your reef lol.

I'm not looking for a project. I'm looking for an easier job that won't break off all my coral. i'm trying both technique's out tonight, on the easiest anemones to get out.

I'll ship them but you will need to send me everything needed to ship them. I'm in Buffalo so much colder than Cali.

You should have no problems to find takers locally. Just post them in your local Facebook group and you will have ripped out of your hands... RBTA are always in demand.
