Sneak Peak on holding tank. Clownfishes not finalized yet. I'm pretty sure on the pair of Wyoming Whites and Phantoms... just still looking for the perfect combination of Picassos and Onyx Clowns.

Are you buying all of the clown fish to see which ones get along together, or do you have some kind of a deal worked out with a breeder? I'm just trying to get an idea of how this is done. Thanks.

If one plans on all the same morph and don't plan on breeding, what I found out from most who have successfully done this... what is best to buy from one source and all from the same batch. You have to get them all at once and put them in the tank at the same time. They will work out who is dominant in the family.
But what I'm trying to do is put a lot of different clowns together, so I've been putting them together in quarantine and see if they get along. When there's no aggression, they stay. As soon as I see killer instinct aggression, they don't make the cut. Don't know if I'll be successful in getting a group of different morphs together, but I'm still working at it. If I'm not, right now, I'm leaning toward Picasso clownfishes as my group. If successful, then I have Wyoming Whites, Fancy Whites, Nakeds, Phantoms, Onyxs, Onyx Picassos and Picassos.
hey Ed, how's that going? from the "Holding Tank" vid, I saw Picasso's, WW, and Phantoms. how many of each have been co existing well?

One phantom and 2x WWs are doing well together for awhile now. Plan to add 3x Phantoms and 2x WWs. The larger Picassos started getting aggressive and besides, some reefers BEGGED me to sell them some of those Picassos, so they're gone. I have a pair of Doni's Snowcassos in quarantine by themselves, not ready to add them into the mix yet. Otherwise, I'm still looking for some different pattern Picassos... looking for variety, doesn't all have to be grade A+ or Snowcassos. After seeing these Hall of Famers from AlphaCorals, I'm going to put a few of these in the mix too. Tell me if these aren't cool? CLICK on each photo for SHORT VIDEO.
If a little bit more black is brought into these Fancy Whites and you'll have a Picasso Oscellaris!!!

the Occys are alright but they seem to stay more orange to my liking. I would rather stick with Picasso's than those above. your Doni's Snowcasso's are really nice, but noticed one or two that are more pale than usual. either they are still very young or somewhat still stressed from the vids. anyway, good luck and thanks for the update.

Getting a handful of what I like to call "Picasso Ocellaris" for nem tank. I may just end up with an Ocellaris tank instead, still pondering.

I figure I better post a video of the tank again on this thread or people will wonder if I really have a tank that I'm going to setup. LoL The first nem that I originally put into the tank, ended up shrinking, so I know the water parameters weren't stable enough yet. The last 2 nems I put in seem to do really well, so I just put in the Gonzo's Colorado Sunburst that Brett graciously gave up. The Sunburst is still trying to settle in as it's moving all over the tank.
I can't wait for the tank to be filled with BTA's. :smile:
oh yeah! and clowns.. :wink:

Shucks, it would be my luck. The Sunburst hid behind a rock for 3 days now.
Good news! I put in the first set of 8 clowns as tester to see how the clowns and nems do together. No hosting yet.
hope the Sunburst is hibernating for a split. 1smile1
interested to see the list of clowns you put in as "testers". :hammer:
as soon as one finds the nem, the others should follow. :smile:

Ask and you shall receive. I have 5x Extreme DaVincis and 3x WWs, so 8x clowns to start with. I have 4x Phantoms waiting... they're larger, so they can go in last. Everything good, I'm going to put in some more clowns in 2 or 3 weeks.
