Koji Wada Pink Nepthea troubles...

I grew my 0.75" frag into a colony thats around 7 inches tall and wide. High flow and light are what I use. Something I have noticed is the base and stems seem to die after a certain length; my yellow nepthea has this problem too.

Really? I have not noticed that. When mine went it just all melted but now it has been doing great. I have that Pink Lemonade Stereonepthea from Legendary Corals and it grows slow but no die off the bottom. Interesting.

My frag is almost a year old and it hasn't grown at all. It looks just as good as it did when I got it and doesn't look stressed. It just won't grow! Does yours like flow? Mine is in very little flow. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

This is one of those corals I can’t get to grow. It won’t die and won’t grow. It’s just there. Doesn’t matter where I put it.

Mine is doing ok at the top of my rock work in full light, but it’s not spreading out much. Just tall like a tree. I’ve had this piece about 9 months.

This is one of those corals I can’t get to grow. It won’t die and won’t grow. It’s just there. Doesn’t matter where I put it.

Glad I'm not the only one but I wish we had an easy solution for this.

I have had mine for about six months in moderate light and moderate flow. As like others have said, it hasn't grown more than a quarter inch. It is a very pretty pink

Mine is in the front, bottom area of the tank. It gets gentle, varied flow. It took a hot minute to find "THE" spot, little trial and error. Also as mentioned watch your nitrates/phosphates...that will stunt/kill it.

I've been a little too cautious about moving it I guess. I was hoping it would just take some time to get settled but the other day I thought about it and realized it had almost been a year since I got it. I'll give another spot a try. I want it to grow!

I keep mine dead center under the light, mid tank getting hammered with flow, I don't feed my corals or test much besides salinity but it grows like a weed. First picture is from the end of July roughly 1.75in and the second is from last week around 7 inches

I had one before that was growing great until I began fighting gha in the tank and went crazy and tore down rock and all kinds of movement and changes. I think I lost it in all that mess.
Now, I have another and it was not doing well in my main system, but again, I was doing all kinds of changes. When will I learn?
Anyway, I took the stump that was left and put in my qt tank. Figured could not hurt to try to get it to recover. Over the last few months, it went from a nub to a nub with lots of tiny polyps and a hint of maybe stems growing. So, I am hopeful it will recover. And since I am don messing in my tank, I will move it when it gets larger. In my 210g, it is a bit small to see as a nub.

My last corals purchases will be the lemonade stereonepthea and maybe another stereonepthia. Then, all done and watch them grow.

Here is mine. About 1 years growth. I have it in about 80 par low to medium flow. My phosphates are pretty low. Nitrates around 60-80

I love seeing old threads of mine! So it was definitely a nitrate/phosphate issue. I had ALL kinds of problems after moving everything from my 2 year established 120 gal tank to the new 380 gal. It was ROUGH. I am happy to say things have settled in...and the Koji Wada is AMAZING.

is that a kenya tree to the left of it (above the mushroom)?

My light and maybe living in florida keep my tank around 80 degrees. Would this be a problem with this coral? I lost all my lobos and tracys wondering if heat was the issue. I have read that some of them come from cool waters!

Is 20 ppm nitrate and .8 phosphates ok? my neon green nepthea does ok.
