Kole tang rescue

He goes from his side to upside down almost and he will realize and swim a second and start all over

I dont think I would have started with copper until the infection was knocked out. It's already harsh on the fish without them being weak like this. Hmm..

Even if he doesn't have flukes, a FW dip would be useful to clear his gills of velvet. Most fish from Petco have velvet these days IME.
I don't think he will make it but in his comdition I guess it won't hurt

Be sure to pump extra oxygen in the tank as well. That never hurts and most times helps quite a bit. If this were me, I'd focus on the infection and getting him to eat. If he survives that long then I'd do TTM coupled with Prazi.... or copper if TTM isn't an option.

Start slowly lowering the temp & SG. And add an air stone for lots of O2. The salvage protocol is the only chance this fish has right now.

image.jpeg image.jpeg The sad part is I had to practically steal him. The guy told me they were not allowed to let sick fish go.. Until I told him about this site and showed him how many others were allowed to take them home to save them he allowed me to sneak him out the door so the Asst manager wouldn't see it.. I will post pics of the rest of the aquariums.. Which is what I was doing until I noticed this guy..

What do you guys think it is with the new pics I posted of his side

Personally I would have put the fish in a tank and left him to be, the less stress the better. Once he was swimming, if it gets to that, I would then possibly start treating him after some observation. But treating him right now is like torturing someone who is dying imo.

If you don't act quickly with antibiotics your not doing it any good.. If you are dying.. I would hope someone would give you antibiotics ASAP via IV at the same time trying to figure out what is wrong with you.. I'm not saying your right or wrong and I appreciate your reply.. Nor when I say this.. Do I mean no one else knows what they are doing, but I know for a fact that @Humblefish and @melypr1985 helped me save many fish before and continue everyday helping those of us with sick fish..

no offense to op but you should have left him at the store.

#1 its a kole tang, not a purple tang
#2 you might have cost that employee his job
