I got many of these like 5 in my last kp order I left them in the sump just to be safe

Look more like a ragged shaggy sea hare..aka Bursatella lecchii. eats green algae, cyanobacteria etc. This oner comes from gulf coast and warm waters off Florida and other areas...Hope this helps...

ive owned multiple bursatella leachii and they are obviously different, only cowries have an input siphon like the one pictured, and bursatella leachii usually has blue spots.

If it's acowrie, you can touch it and it will peel its mantle back, revealing its smooth shell--if it is a gold ring on top, that'd be a money cowrie, but I'm betting that's not it.

Compare it to Nucleolaria nucleus, Nucleus cowry, see if it matches.

So, the snail in question is definitely a cowry (taxonomic family Cypraeidae), but I'm honestly not sure which species it is. Nucleolaria nucleus, certainly does look close based on the mantle, but I'm not aware of any Nucleolaria spp. in/near Florida's waters.

In this case, a pic of the shell instead of the mantle would likely go a long way toward an ID.

A couple other snails that look similar, but not quite right to me:
-Arestorides argus
-Naria spp. (to my knowledge, only Naria turdus is found in Florida at present)

Double + on the above. Unless the holding facility co-mingles critters together regardless of origin, Naria turdus (that name cracks me up) seems like a better candidate. A picture of the shell is needed.
