Kevin, I apologize if it's already been asked, but what camera are you using for your pictures? Everything looks fantastic......and pictures I take look like crap. And if you're not using a camera, and using a phone, what's your secret?

Thanks Paul I appreciate it! All my pictures are taken with my cell phone (iPhone) using lighting gels. It took a little while to find the right color to use for accurate colors, but once I found one it's worked very well for me. I use one that is more brown that the ones I usually see used which are orange. I found the ones I use on Amazon. They come in a set of 8 with different colors. I'll try to find the info for you and pm it to you.

I'm good bro. just been to busy for anything lately. currently out of the country again in Abu Dhabi for work. for the third time in 1.5 years. pretty much starting from scratch again when I get back. reading your build giving me the itch to come back full force like before. Lost it all to a major crash in Feb while I was out here. 3 tanks cracked in my fish room during the freeze and major diatoms took over suffocation everything. Of course I was out here in Abu Dhabi/Dubai. so not much I could do. Ill be back. so right now the fish room is running but empty. built a new sump design right before I came out here. and the display is going to get an overhaul. I'm ready. ill be back 2 jan. and its go time. hopefully the few zoas and lps that survived are still doing good when I get back. if not. it really starting from scratch ha-ha. this one hit me hard. over 500 sps frags / colonies, about 40 or so zoas and all my acans gone. ok im going to cry now. haha. ill catch up with you when I get back bro.

I was wondering the same about your pics!! Is this an App for the iPhone or do you actually use sheets? I've found an App on the Apple App Store that looks like it will do what your suggesting.

Thanks for the info. I have the gels....actually ordered the sample pack from B&H out of NYC for around $5. It came with something like 130 gels. I just haven't gotten around to finding the right one yet. However, when I do, what's great about these gels is that they have all the info with them, so I'll know the exact gel. Problem is, there are just too many.
Chris, it's not an App, but as you can see from the picture above, it's a small piece of colored, transparent film that is placed in front of the lens of the camera when taking a picture. It filters out the heavy blue lights we have, and gives you a picture closer to what our eye is seeing. You need to use a gel that is something in the red/orange/brown range.

They are small cuttings of the gel sheets. I found someone that sells them in sets with a few different colors. The one I use is more brown than the normal orange.

Also made a few new contacts. thanks for the heads up. checking out the Dubai mall aquarium tomorrow along with the atlantis lost world underwater tour. guess ill need to revisit my build page so I can upload all the fishy pics from the middle east.

Not much new in the 57. Picked up 2 nice Acro frags and a rodi unit yesterday. Still really need to get the dosing pump set up. With all the sps my parameters are swinging more than I would like with me only dosing once a day. Most look fine, but I can tell a few are getting annoyed. Been running around doing stuff all weekend so I doubt I'll be able to get it done this weekend. Hopefully I'll get some time during the week. How's the big tank coming along?
Well it's just sitting, trying to decide if I want to drill it or not, or just go with the HOB overflow. I would like to get the normal overflow box that goes to the bottom but can't find them anywhere? Other than that talking with my buddy getting the other stuff ready, (live rock, sand, etc) that's about it.
