Large drop in pH

This is crazy. If the Co2 in your apt is to high. Then running an air stone or a skimmer will not work. What are you going to do? Run co2 through an air stone and expect a difference. You've already answered your question. You need fresh air to purge the co2 from your apt. Otherwise the co2 in your apt will cause the co2 in your tank to stay exactly where it is.
And remember you are breathing this co2 as well. Not quite as important as your reef tank, lol, but should still be a concern.
Find a way to vent the bad air out and some good air in. Otherwise you will be replicating Einstein's theory of sanity.

I don't think you've read the thread before posting. I'm going to be running the skimmer/air stone intake through CO2 scrubber media... This will increase the pH of the tank.

Thanks for the input

What i've found through the past number of months is that the nano skimmers are insufficient for scrubbing CO2. I have had my media canister connected to the skimmer [filled with scrubber material] for the past 5 months or so, and the pH does not change [unless I open the windows - it's 40 degrees already here in Michigan, so that's not an option].

I'm switching over toa 55 gallon tank in 2 weeks, so i'm looking forward to being able to maintain a higher pH using a larger skimmer and C02 Scrubber media.

I'm regularly hitting a pH of 7.5 at night/in the mornings. I can't wait to fix this in the bigger tank!
