Larger fish for 75g tank?

Thanks everyone! Great suggestions here.

I've had people tell me that any Tangs are too big for a 75g. What's your experience on that?

My yellow tang did just fine in my 75

Other suggestions besides a coris wrasse would be a coral beauty or flame angel (usually safe) and a tomini tang (stays small, good algae eater, generally not as mean as other tangs).

That's what I heard. Hawaii banned the export of them, correct?
Yes they did, I remember I used to get them for $35. You can buy the tank raised ones for maybe $100 or so but I hear they are more translucent and don’t have the bright yellow color.

They are tank bred (cultured, Biota calls it) by Biota. They used to sell them for 100. Now they have raised prices. They supposedly are only less bright when very small and develop the deeper yellow color.

Wrasses don't eat algae. Which ones do you think do?
Well, i guess I got some magical wrasse.
Here are all my wrasse
Sunset Wrasse
Female Leopard Wrasse
African Two Spot Wrasse
Black-Backed Wrasse
Melanurus Wrasse
White Spotted Wrasse
Fairy Wrasse
Yellow Coris Wrasse
And all of my wrasses eat algae all the time. They even eat seaweed that's left over from my blue tang, yellow tang, and blonde naso. Especially the female leopard wrasse that's supposed to be an expert only fish (mines eats algae, all the food i feed them, and seaweed.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Have you found that your wrasses eat algae from the rock work or primarily from the water column and nori clips?

They eat algae off the rocks, back wall, glass, frag racks, and seaweed clips. My wrasses eat everything!

Interesting! That's not my experience so thanks for sharing!

Smaller Bristletooth Tangs: Tomini, Kole, Square Tail, White Tail.

Marine Betta (not very active).

Smaller Butterflies (Mitratus, Tinkeri, Burgess, Declivis)

Larger Fairy Wrasses

Pair of medium sized Centropyge angels

Hi all,
New here. My son and I keep a 75g tank and are looking for ideas for a larger showcase type fish. Right now we have:

2 Ocillaris Clowns
2 yellowtail damsels
Large BTA that hosts the clowns
2 yellow watchmen gobies
Various soft and LPS corals.
1 Pistol shrimp
2 peppermint shrimp
Hermit crabs and snails

We really like the dwarf angels but are concerned they'll eat the corals.

Any ideas for a larger fish?

Thanks!
Swallroewtail angel completely reef safe

They yellow up pretty quick. The conversation I had with Biota was they get real pale during shipping buy color comes in quick after that. I'd say that's true in my case. It's a total pig and getting good and yellow after two weeks. Also they are only $150 so relative to what they were or could've been, not bad.

75 I vote Tomini. Very underrated fish. Kole seem to steal their glory.

I have found the same to be true. My melanarus and kole Tang are buddies. They swim all day together, shred nori together, make cute lip marks on any algea covered class eating all day.
