I had the same experience last year. Mine wouldn't eat any of the many different foods I offered, then also passed away after a couple of months. I had just added a big electric blue hermit that just polished off all the rock & there was very little algae. It was so stressful watching him waste away. (The only fish I've lost aside from a hawkfish that jumped). I read that some lawnmower blennies never take to offered foods
I now have a tail spot and since he is much smaller, the tank supports him fine and he has a nice little round tummy.

What's crazy is he never showed signs of being hungry or starving. Two months later..
