Learned my lesson: Lids are necessary!

Rusts not if you get netting or Fiberglas there are different types of screens out there. But just curious he would you want to put your lights on your glass
90% of the lights come with brackets. Im not saying directly on the glass- That would be retarded.

Sorry, all who posted on their losses.

OP I'm sorry the family went through this difficult loss.

Two nights ago my wife discovered our 9 year old female clown on the floor. When I picked her up she was stiff and pretty dry, but I held her in front of a powerhead for a few minutes and somehow, she made it.

So yeah, any fish can jump. Even an old clownfish. Now the lid is back on. I'd put it away after my jawfish was murdered.

sorry to hear about your trigger

my biggest jumper has been my female clown. she jumped out when i was grabbing my keys next to the tank, next thing i know i hear a water sploosh sound and go investigating. sure enough she hopped out, so i got the net top put together the next day

and casually earlier today, my two clowns were doing some weird behavior where they were like poking their heads out of the water (some weird mating thing?) then next thing i know i hear that same sploosh. net kept her in the tank, but, unfortunately for me, into the overflow she went. so now i get to figure out how the hell i'm going to get her out of there since it's a pretty small footprint loaded with pipes :mad:

Dont know your plumbing set up but usually you can just pull the standpipe and let the fish flush down into the sump.
