I wasn't trying to start another MH vs. LED argument just trying to be funny. I run MH and I am happy with them.

Ive put MH/t5 on my tank and leds/t5 combo blows them away in all aspects. Well ok MH wins in the shimmer department.![]()
I used MH for 2 years, 250 watt (Phoenix), then went to T5, and then Radion Gen 2; I will never use anything but LED's ever again. Like I posted earlier, I just received the OR Arctic LED fixture but I have yet to set it up, there is no way that I can claim any type of growth/coloration, yet. The OR fixture does "look" very promising.
You still using your radion? Was it worth the money?
I can't find any new info on the ReefStar LED's. I saw there was a conversation about them back in April-ish and it sounded really good. Basically the typical 55x3's, but a 3rd channel for moonlights. Any way to get in touch with those folks?I am using a Reefstar. It is sold on my local forum, the guy Kenny is really nice and loves to help with the setup, it covers a 24x24 area and is just under $300. Uses 1w LEDs mainly blue and white that are dimmable, it also has 4 red and some sweet moonlights.
I'm a newbie so I wanted something simple for a FOWLR tank (with the possibilities of coral in the future) at a reasonable price. Did my research, this is what I'm going with: Marineland Reef Capable LED Lighting System - WITH TIMER Aquarium LED Light Fixtures ecoxotic (is that how it's spelled?) has an amazing one on amazon but I have an 29 gallon nano and they didn't have anything small enough to fit across my 18" wide tank.
Good luck,
Kate
Thanks for all of the good info so far guys. Anybody who is using a reef keeper having problems with their LEDs flickering? I have read a few fixtures have had this issue.
It's the ReefKeeper, not the lights.
Digital Aquatics has an official thread addressing this...but it's not a problem per se. Supposedly something called a triac is involved with the switching of the RK's low-current outlets and they are inherently prone to this. Someone more in-the-know than me would have to explain why some other solution isn't used since this "quacks like a defect" even if it isn't one.
The simple solution, Digital Aquatics says, is to hook up a surge suppressor on the RK outlet and plug the flickering device into that.
Hope this helps!

The color is VERY nice actually. He runs 2 on his tank and they are perfect. If I had to get more I would probably go with those revive.
