Leptoseris issue

You mean mine is Leptoseris but the picture he showed is not correct?

Yours looks like leptoseris. But the picture someone else posted is a completely different coral, somewhat similar sounding name.

Leptoseris usually prefer lower lighting and medium flow. I have mine partially shaded and the coloration and growth is pretty good. Where exactly is it in regards to lighting.

It is on the left side of tank you can see the yellow. It is about halfway up the tank and just left and back from center.

Video looks like it's trying to eat. It probably thinks its night time down there on the dark side. The upside is brilliant, very nice. It will take awhile for that coral to acclimate but it looks happy right where it is at. Moving stuff around that is supposed to be fixed in one spot on a reef isn't a good plan, imo.

Thank you ! I was hoping someone could identify the stringy things. Could these be reaching for food?

Those look like sweeper feeders of some sort. Some of these corals look like they are covered in pin worms when they are hunting or fighting for space.
Is it doing battle with the Duncan? or Visa verse? That is the only reason I might move it if it is too close to another competitor.

I didnt realize lepto's can have feeding tentacles that long. That's crazy. Now I have to check out mine a little closer late at night I guess.

I will have to monitor this. I have seen no signs of stinging on either coral. But I'm not too sure what that would look like either to be honest...

I would say there is 5 or 6 inches in between. I from what I read duncans don't stretch far with their tentacles but again...I am not 100% on this lol and I appreciate all your advice!! Now that I know these are tentacles and it is not the coral receding I can relax a bit. I am ok with coral warfare but I do not want to be the cause of the coral death!!

Funny thing is I've watched this video probably 5 times but his voice is so calm I constantly zone out haha. Between him and speed talking brs guys I think I only take in 10% of what I watch!! I will watch it again thank you for your help!!

That does look like what I am seeing just his case is much worse! I will have to keep an eye. Do you suggest feeding ab+ everyday to see if it changes if it was hungry? Or just stick to what I am doing and monitor?

I bought a "Space Invader Pectinia" and I thought it had that name because it was so brightly colored. Turns out it is because the tentacle invade a huge space in the aquarium! It reached out and stung another coral really badly. I still have the space invader, I like the color and the growth form of Pectinia.

Always stick to what is working. That coral is happy enough where it is at and it should continue to thrive and improve over time if you keep parameters where you have them.

Wow. I had a platygyra I had to get rid of. Nasty sweepers just like that post. Extended maybe 10” in all directions.
