In your experience which tangs are less aggressive? I see lots of things about Powder blues, Sailfins & Tominis being very aggressive. Amongst others like Sohals & Clowns. In your experience which are the least aggressive?

My Scopas has been the least aggressive followed by my Sailfin. Most aggressive for a long time was the Yellow Eyed Khole.. but after getting a Powder Brown he's the king aggressive ****** for sure.

+1 on the tomini. Maybe he'd be more of a brat if there were another tang in the tank, but he's never had anything but the briefest of issues with even new arrivals. The most I've ever seen is him speed up slightly to swim towards a new inhabitant, but never any biting or anything else. And after a couple minutes of the newbie in the tank, he pays them no mind whatsoever.

There is a tang aggression sticky thread in the fish forum discussing this topic. First post has a list of tangs by decreasing aggression. Not sure I entirely agree with the list, but it is well considered.

My tomini is very peaceful, no other tangs in the tank though

Same here, I'd say he's even helping the shy fish go out when introduced, he's always checking on other fish and swimming with them

Every day I say how my Tomini might be the best fish I’ve had. Stands it’s ground but avoids problems.

I have a good sized vlamingi who is oblivious to the other tangs - but keeps a male blue jaw trigger hiding in the corner

My vlamingi is over a foot long and is the most gentle tang I have ever had. Second is my half black mimic tang. Very peaceful but can stick up for itself if needed. Third would be my 11” dejardini.

Worst in my tank is my 11 year old yellow tang lol.

I have a hippo, yellow and yellow eye kole in my 6' 125. None of them are particularly aggressive toward each other or the other fish in the tank. I've read that as they age, they tend to become more aggressive. Not sure if that's true or not. I've had all of mine for going on 4 years and if they start bickering, I guess I'll have to get another tank.

ARE YOU READY TO RUMBLE!?!?!

My yellow eye kole was a bully to one fish. Had to get rid of him. My research said they were least aggressive. Not so. Replaced with a flame hawk. Much better!
