Pretty sure I'm going to lose my Psych head wrasse (bummer!). He was eating great and super happy. Then today it has been a quick downhill slide (emphasize quick).

He's still new to my tank, but I put too much faith in my lfs that he was healthy and I didn't need to set up my quarantine tank (stupid). So his stress combined with being injured (probably in transit) created a bacterial infection, I'm guessing.

I don't have antibiotics on hand, they're on their way (kanaplex) ... Should be delivered on Friday (nowhere to buy them here). But I doubt he will make it that long.

First big purchase. First stupid decision (it was a quick purchase ).

Sigh.

Should I do anything else to the tank after he goes? (pretty sure he won't make it through the night). I'll do a water change, add some Kent marine C.

Not too much but others may have other opinions! Always keep antibiotics on hand

take him out of the tank right now, put him in hospital tank or a bucket. Your other fishes will be at risk.

Everything is put up and away... Should I just put him in a 5 gallon bucket with saltwater and hope for the best? I have no extra heater (let a friend borrow it).
Does it really look like uronema? If so, are my anthias and clownfish at risk? I also have a one spot fox face.

Now I'm panicking.

Yeah, put 5 gallons worth of metro in there and hope for the best. He will be fine in a bucket till morning. They could be at risk, the immune system of the fox face and anthias should keep unharmed

Will do. Hubby (bless his soul) is running out to Walmart to buy a heater to try and save him and make him comfortable... We live in a small town away from everybody. Lol. So this will be a long trip. But here he is now... I think our efforts are futile. He's still breathing, and I've got a bucket ready with metroplex. I see some blood streaking near his mouth.

If I could barf right now from anxiety I would.

This kinda stuff happens, I lost over $300+ in designer clowns when brook hit and I didn't know what it was. It was awful but I learned how to treat it. It gets easier. It happens to everyone

It is, I had brook strike on some of my clowns last Thursday and i got them clear and eating again within 4 days!
Awesome! Yay for wins!

I'm definitely going to have all my qt tank things in place for stuff like this In the future... And antibiotics...

Metroplex is a great one! It can treat brooklynella as well, I always keep kana and metro on hand as well as copper and formalin. QT is a must when there is other fish in a tank.

*slapping myself*. Well... Friday I will have everything needed for a qt and treatment.... Literally for everything. Lol.

I lost 28 fish in 2 days from velvet ( I didn't know what it was then) that came in on a coral beauty who looked perfectly fine. Guess who survived? Yep the coral beauty and I still have him today. But the lfs had me treating my fish with something that would never have helped velvet. So I lost everything but him. Thank God for forums like this today!

Couldn't agree more, so many people on here have helped and I have gained so much experience treating disease on here!
