How do you guys get your WD's so fuzzy? Mine grows decent but does not show polyp extension like these pictures. This is mine in my tank sitting around 500 par... tank params are
NO3: 7ish
PO4: .05-.09
Calcium: 450
Alk: 9
Mag: 1380-1400

Its been in my tank for a little over a year, at which it was about a 1" frag when added.

What is your ph like? Mine didn't have great polyp extension until the tank was consistently 8.1-8.2 ph. That being said, PE is hard to pin down and it could be for a number of reasons. I've found flow, ph, trace elements, nutrients, fish, microfauna and of course overall stability all play a role in PE. Basically everything in the tank lol. Color and growth look good so that makes it even harder.

My ph during full lights is typically around 8.31 and during the night with fuge on reverse light schedule is around 8.01... I do the Balling method using BRS pharma for alk and calcium.... I also dose the K- & A+ trace elements too. I feed pretty well and have a decent export with skimmer & fuge running. Sometimes I have to dial down the fuge light schedule so it doesn't remove too much. I feed mostly a frozen fish food I make myself. Do you think they aren't out much because there is enough food in the column. I also dose Brightwell coral amino daily 32 drops which is about 2ml I believe. I don't have any algae issues just the typical glass stuff I get once every 3 days.
 
Here is two pictures, first under only T5 Blue+ and Coral+, and the second T5 and Orphek Plue+ light bar.
Nitrate and Phosphate, can’t remember let time I tested them.

Are you keeping Po4 that high because of the High par/alk?
your po4 and No3 are so vastly different it’s interesting!

My parameters are a little off from what they usually are but here goes
Alk: 8.1 dkh
Cal: 390 ppm
Phosphorus: 41 ppb

NO3: 25

How much PAR you giving it?

it reads 250 on one side and 330 on the other. so somewhere in that range. its under one of the braces probably why there is such a wide range

Thanks ! The NO3 is very low because I run 2 DIY 5 gal denitrificaction units and corals uptake nitrogen preferably in the form of ammonium and not so as nitrate. I don't use any media to lower PO4 nor macroalgae (money savings) PO4 is quite stable and corals seems to have adapted to those levels. High alkalinity and high PAR helps to maintain the growth I want, my tank is only 120 gal and space is very limited. My corals have never stopped growing and they are not brittle, so what level of PO4 is considered too high to completely halt growth ? That is yet to be determined. There is a study by Sabrina Rosset,a Jörg Wiedenmann "Phosphate deficiency promotes coral bleaching and is reflected by the ultrastructure of symbiotic dinoflagellates" that will make you think twice about NO3 & PO4 ratios. Btw, my main lighting system is an ATI 8x54w T5, 50/50 Blue Plus, Coral Plus with supplemental Orphek OR3 Blue Plus led bars.
 
my frag tank grow out, that through a series of unfortunate events, is no more :(

This is under a reefbreeders fixture at about 300 par (whites are at 25% and blues at around 75%). Nitrates at 1 and phosphates at .1. Picture was taken with the Tiffen 85b filter on the lens.

I agree that if it’s consistent and stable corals will generally adapt to it, and with a higher alkalinity it would make sense not to bother lowering it.

i didn’t mean “high” and in bad, but generally I keep mine anywhere from 0.08-0.15 depending how on top of it I am dosing wise..generally speaking my sps will consume 0.15 po4 in 2-3 days so I dose it every other day.

some would say 0.15 is “elevated”
I’m with you on team nutrients though, makes for some bright acros.
