I do have two large blood red shrimp in that take that I should probably move before the yellow coris wrasse gets bigger.

Personally, I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Was sold as yellow coris wrasse.

Not the most expensive wrasse by any means, but by far one of my favorites! It's like the fish glows from within under tank lights and it's always moving. :) I think you're smart to move the shrimp to another tank. When fish grow up with a member of the CUC, they will sometimes leave them alone; however, a $40-$50 shrimp would be an expensive meal. LOL

Katherine? Maybe

Looking for the scientific name of this guy... was sold to me as a rosey scales fairy wrasse, which doesn’t turn up much on google.

Sorry pics aren’t the best, he moves too quick to get a good one.

That's a great score and one I don't see around my LFS ever!

I love the little guy.. named Paul Jr. (After my first wrasse in this tank that unfortunately fell victim to my tang and never recovered). I knew he was pretty special when I saw him as I couldnt ID him, nor could I find a photo online with the name provided. He was inexpensive too.

Can’t remember if this is a mccosker or a carpenters. Really need to figure this out so I can order the opposite one. I can’t really get better pictures.

Looks like carpenteri to me, based on the dorsal coloration.

Total newbie here. I believe that’s a Carpenter. The horizontal stripes are more pronounced.

anything else I can do to make sure its a carpenter?
We'd need to see the number of dorsal filaments, but it seems someone has chomped them off recently.

Ive honestly never seen dorsal filaments on this wrasse and he isnt bullied
Is he spooky then? Fins are getting tattered somehow.

I do think I see the nub of 2 filaments, so that would rule out mccoskeri if so.

spooky? Like scared? if thats what you mean, no he comes up to the tank when I feed and eats great. Unless the male lyretail is messing with him, I just saw the wrasse flashing which is when I tried to take those pictures

Newbie here. LFS isnt sure what this is, neither am I
