Does anybody know what type of wrasse this is? It is available at a store near me, and a slightly high asking price. They have it labeled as a rose belly fairy wrasse.

At lfs and have this guy labeled as a red line wrasse. Does not look like one to me.

Female C. rubrimarginatus, it is just faintly transitioning into a male, the tail is developing the margin.

So should I be mad that I ordered a male and got a female beginning to transition to male? Is he likely to continue the transition? If so I won't complain. It's a pretty pink color at the moment

I think so too; with a female pylei being the only other possibility. A better quality photo (less grainy) could make it certain.

I ordered a pink margin, so hopefully that's what it is. It was supposed to be a male. It was an inexpensive male though... 90 bucks without tax and shipping...

Well not even sure if local store still has him but still curious as what might be. Base body color is grey with a slight violet tinge. Then has red dotted lines running the length of it, with red hew on fin edges. And a black dot right before last bit of the tail and back of head near gills. These are best pics I could get.

Halichoeres melanochir, care is comparable to most other Halichoeres wrasses.

We have a cebu pylei male currently. In a 4' 120. But he is living in one of the overflow box atm. He keeps jumping back and forth. Would they get along?

We have a 240 in the garage waiting on me to finish the basement living room.
