Sometimes a mislabeled fish works in the reefer's favor, sometimes the LFS' favor. This one went LSF favor. Probably not malicious, just mislabeled. See if they have a linneatus labeled as temminki.Really? I was charged as leniatus. .

From where? The locales that lineatus is collected are much better at correctly identifying their fish than the Philippines and Indonesia. Was directly shipped from where it was caught[emoji52]

Yep, H. biocellatus.Just getting a confirmation that this is indeed a biocellatus. She was in a LFS I rarely go to because it is even more out of the way than the other 2 in town, but she was a decent price and the owner was running a 20% off sale. She was hard to catch as she went right to the sandbed as soon as she knew something was up. The owner said she'd been in for several months and did this game everytime someone wanted to buy her. As it was, it took them 15 minutes to find her in the sandbed. I was patient. Sorry for the crappy cell pics, she didnt want to cooperate and I scraped the glass but didn't want to scrape the coralline off as I wanted to get a pic and she'd have dove into the sand if I messed too much.

Zac
They are both still females. The one with the 'fainter' spot is just closer to transioning. It's colors will change significantly once it is a male.I picked up this pair of juvenile katherine's fairy wrasse(at least that's what they said they were) and wanted to see if one is make and one is female? The store owner wasn't sure how to tell the difference. One has a black dot at the base of the tail and the other doesn't.
