ID please. This wrasse was the thumbnail for the Diver's Den fish page, but it wasn't there when I clicked in. My gut says Haliocheres, but I am stumped beyond that.

It's a female Thalassoma species, either lunare or pavo.

Bifasciatum usually doesn't have the vertical markings, but it could be stress coloring.

I'm not certain either, but chloropterus was my first thought as well.

Agree with TJ on the possibilities, but filamentosus is most likely IMO.

I agree. Some of the Northern Philippine and Japanese lunatus can
be quite dark in coloration.

Thank you, I appreciate the correction. Was ordered as a Lunatus but the dark coloration made me wonder.
