Only partial credit for this. Yes it is a blue head wrasse, but it is Thalassoma bifasciatum, not Gomphosus varius.

The least Thalassoma-ish wrasse in the genus, but still feistier than the reef safe wrasses.

I actually was moving to fast the genus was way off I get to hype when I see a wrasse.

Bluehead was my first encounter with a tropical wrasse, when I was about 12 or 15. Trained it to spit brine shrimp off my fingers, and to co-exist with seahorses.

Loved wrasses ever since!

Still too blue and too distant, but I'm with Hunter and leaning toward beauperryi., but definitely in the complex.
