Lol we're talking about beauperryi's ;) I'm mesmerized by them for some reason.

@evolved @eatbreakfast gentlemen you were right on the money, I hope 1 day I'm half as good as y'all. The very first male pic in the following is almost identical.
https://reefbuilders.com/2012/02/29...graphical-variation-finespotted-fairy-wrasse/

Now is this the final coloration or will it be more like the pic (not as vibrant) that @Greenstreet.1 posted on page 92 yesterday? I hate being tempted like this.
The ones in the Reefbuilders article are about as nice as they come, the one in Greenstreet's post is flashing. Even if they come in nice they generally fade. Perhaps if you get one, and it is the most dominant wrasse, it may maintain it's colors.
Saw this wrasse at the lfs, any idea what wrasse is this?

Duke4life got it. Male C. cf. pylei from Cebu.
Thanks. Is it aggressive to other wrasse.
Yeah, they are pretty aggressive for a fairy wrasse.

+1

I don't see the yellow patch, so I say cyanopleura.

On a side note, lyukyuensis is regarded as invalid based off of a misspelling, it should be ryukyuensis, essentially translating to 'from Ryukyu Islands'.
I see what you are talking about now, a yellow patch near the bottom behind the fins. I 2nd guessed myself on this 1, having a book sometimes doesn't help lol

I'll try to get a better pic tomorrow. I was leaning toward the same ID, but there are subtle differences and wasn't sure.

The dorsal is bright yellow, belly is completely white and fins have this almost glittery look to them. Haven't seen that in any pics so far.

So, similar to this specimen?
