Hi. Was sold as carpenter to me. Just want to make sure that is what I'm buying for a change lol

I'm on my phone, so I can't see the number of filaments on the dorsal clearly, but it only looks like one to me. If that is the case then it is a mckosker, not carpenter.

Appears to be an initial phase male Cirrhilabrus filamentosus, whipfin fairy wrasse, accompanied by a male Bali C. lubbocki in the final pic. C. filamentosus is a very aggressive fairy wrasse.

What type of wrasse is this? Will it be ok with crushed coral substrate? Are they reef safe and what about inverts?

Hortulanus( checkerboard) Wrasse I believe. Not reef safe from what I've heard- I would suspect any inverts/snails may be a nice snack. Needs sandy substrate

Halichoeres hortulanus.

It's a big species for Halichoeres, and as such, will be hard on the motile inverts. So how "reef safe" depends on what that means to you. ;)

Crushed coral would not be ideal, as it could lead to abrasions/infections.

It will also likely flip over any loose coral frags in search of food.

Eventually, yes. It's got a ways to grow before it will be big enough to move anything of size.
