A species of fairy wrasse, yes. Cirrhilabrus genus = fairy wrasseForm of a fairy wrasse?
That would be correct. But there is more than 1 wrasse called a Christmas wrasse. That is a halichoeres biocellotus. Live aquaria calls it a red lined wrassePlease ID this baby.
Was told it's a juvenile Xmas wrasse.
This pic is a a month or so old but looks the same

Juvenile Halichoeres biocellatus. Sometimes called the red Christmas wrasse, sometimes the red line wrasse. There are a few species of wrasse that go around being called some variation of Christmas wrasse. They can vary between the species in behavior and reef tank suitability. H. biocellatus is a smaller Halichoeres and is peaceful. Please ID this baby.

They don't look a whole lot different as adults, one of my favorite halichoeres.Great. I'll check some of the adult pics online to see his future...
Lots of difference between individuals. As juveniles they seem more vivid until becoming terminal male, that's when they become prettier. I actually think for this fish quality of diet may pay a more important role than others. Perhaps the two superior wrasse experts will have more for youAnd why is that? Online the coloration varies tremendously. Do they have streaks of green running thru them
Doing a quick Google search a lot of the variance is due to stages of maturity of the fish, or that there were a few pics of the closely related H. ornatissmus and H. claudia. And why is that? Online the coloration varies tremendously. Do they have streaks of green running thru them
