Someone locally recently told me this wrasse (splendid pintail) is very aggressive as a super male? Is that the case. it seems to ignore everything at the moment. Has no interest in any of my other fish at the moment. My chromis even chased him away the other day.
Perhaps to other species in the lunatus complex, but otherwise pretty peaceful.
That's a carpenter flasher wrasse. They are prolific jumpers, so a covered top is essential. Beyond that, they are a peaceful, colorful, active reef safe fish.Need help with and ID on this wrasse! The wrasse being sold as a Filimented fairy wrasse, but I want a confirmation on what I'm getting before I pick it up. I think it looks similar to a carpenters flasher wrasse, but I am not a wrasse expert. Any input would be helpful! Also any tips on keeping these guys if I do decide to buy would be appreciated! Thanks!

Yea this fish seems very peaceful. The only aggression I see is because it doesnt like the sharkenose goby trying to clean him.
It's a type of razor wrasse, Novaculops halsteadi. It is a sand burying wrasse that appreciates open sand space. It will eat shrimps, snails, and crabs. It will also knock over corals and small rocks in it's hunt for food.Any idea what this wrasse is ?

Cirrhilabrus cf. pylei. Currently an undescribed species from Cebu.
It's a different species than the true C. pylei, and is supposed to be getting a formal description by Luiz Rocha at some point.
Then it should have been at the shop on Friday. The only direct flight to JFK(which serves as the hub for the tri state area) and the Philippines arrives on Friday morning.
