Cool thanks. So it will end up as a male and will change colour a bit?

The collector I got it from said that it was fully grown and all of the ones in his holding tank were the exact same colours.

The photo makes it look a bit dull though (as they always do) it has a lot more blue on it that just shows up as pink in photos.

The colors are getting there. They will finalize, it's close, but not done yet.

Cant get a clear picture - when I bought it I thought it was called a "high fin wrasse" but is it a flasher wrasse? It has beautiful electric blue in his fins ?

It's a male Cirrhilabrus rubriventralis. It's a fairy wrasse.

There are some traits which are a bit Paracheilinus in nature with this complex, but they're 100% Cirrhilabrus in taxonomy.

They are, however, a species which occasionally does get mislabeled as a flasher wrasse.

Quite likely the northern Philippine variant of temminckii; would need a better picture to confirm.

I agree with Hunter. This fish is frequently sold as katherinae, but is actually not the true katherinae.

Yeah i believe teminicki.
"Katherine" usually have more red/orange on their heads. Makes are pretty well distinguished from the typical teminicki

Their photo is way better than mine and that is exactly what it looks like. The collector did mention that it might be a new species, best collector in Aus!
