Just saw this thread! I got a little female from my LFS - didn't know what she was but not doing well so brought her home. Six months later she is doing great... not sure what she is... yellow fin wrasse?

It's a female Cirrhilabrus in the rubripinnis complex of species. Either rubeus, joanallenae, or africanus.
I have another one...she was labeled as a “hooded flame wrasse” at my LFS. I’m guessing female Cirrhilabrus bathyphilus?

Bathyphilus of efatensis.

Any info on whether Xenojulius Margaritaceus are reef safe?
Yes, their care and behavior is comparable to a small leopard wrasse.

Hi Eatbreakfast I have a question about my wrasse that maybe you can help me with. On page 147 you helped me identify my wrasse. Since putting him in he has only come out a few times. He is alive and wedged into a hole in the rock. He has not come out in about 7 days, should i be worried??? I can see his fins flick back and forth sometimes. I know they can hide just wondering how long i should wait it out. Thanks
Scott

To me that sounds as though there is a bully in the tank. For the most part wrasses should be outgoing.
