I believe cf. solarensis from the reef builders article. It looks identical to ones posted by Dr. Trond Erik Vee Aune.

I would like to add a C. rubrimarginatus into the tank with this fish. I looked at the inferiority chart and they appear to be in different subgroups, do you think they might be compatible?

That's correct, although we tend to use cf. cyanopluera more commonly than cf. solorensis. Regardless, all the same thing.

It's in the lunatus complex and has a black tail, so looks like cf. lunatus from the Philippines.

Yep. Only about 6 hours in QT but he’s a beaut. Never seen the black outline on the tail.

Really need a better picture with decent clarity and, if possible, the fins visible.
Best guess on what I can see right now is Cirrhilabrus joanallenae, but I am only about 60% confident.

Agreed on needing a better pic, but I am leaning slightly more toward C. africanus, but by no means overly confident.

That's my second guess as well, and I could even make a 3rd guess of katoi (but I don't think so - skull is too pointed).

First, I apologize for the quality of the photo. Camera phone + actinic lights + zoom + fast fish = poor quality photos.

I bought this fish a few weeks ago and was told at the time that it was tri-colored fairy wrasse. Can you confirm? Is that the same as a Lubbock's wrasse?

That is indeed C. lubbocki, Cebu variant.

lubbocki is collected from 2 different regions; those from Cebu look like that and then those from Bali are the typical blue on the sides without the stripes. Females of both variants are indistinguishable and predominantly pink in color.
