HOLY COW - that looks like another TANK... obviously you've got game and I'm just lucky to be here with my utilitarian configurations - NICE!! WOW

Nice a deep, must give you good water volume! :) Can'thelp but wonder if you will struggle to keep it clean, looks hard toget in and out of?

You going Triton with that big fuge?

Sort of a modified Triton method without their supplements. The first section is a little more than 40 gallons for the fuge and will run a mud substrate with cheato and clean up crew critters (snails). I can actually fit my entire torso in there between the sump and stand so, just putting my arms in there works pretty easy.

Ah cool! :-) I run Triton Core-7 on mine, not getting the full effect though because of the under-sized refugium.

Before I moved, my tank (80 gallon) was plumbed to a 75 gallon refugium with 2" of sand and Caulerpa. I had zero issues with algae in the display so I'm a big believer in going with the largest refugium you can.

I have a 90 gallon DT and run a DIY 50 Breeder sump. It was purchased as a 40B and didn't discover it was 50 until I purchase a second 40B to redo the sump and noted the difference in size.

Here's an older picture when I was running a 7 inch sock and biopellets.

Here it is today.....no sock and biopellet reactor.

Sump Jan 2023.jpg

Total of three chambers where I have two return lines each coming into the sump in opposite back corners of the sump. Far left chamber is sock holder and skimmer and one heater. Far right is refugium with pH probe. Center section is return section with second heater, ATO float switches, and dosing lines for alk, calc and DIY NOPOX.

Ok, now after seeing this, I won't have to try and justify a new tank to my wife for a while! I'm going to up my game in the sump!
