I just got the 12g JBJ nano going at home next to the 32g so I'm a little excited about that.. yay! more room on the main tank and less clutter on the sand bed.. what a relief!

I'll take a snap later.. it's not really all the way set up yet.. I'm waiting for 150w MH pendant from a local reefer.. should be here by Friday.. :)

also, I just added some test corals earlier and they opened up right away so I think it's pretty much ready.. :D

anyway, let's see watcha all got for your prop tank / holding tank / QT tank..

some older pics, hopefully I'll take enough pics to have a prop thread eventually :D

Dang Chris, how come your sand is always so pristine white? What's the trick? And oh yeah, I'll take that frag, that one over there, this one, and the others too...........:D

You have seen my modest setup....

You aren't by chance getting your halide from the Grand Rapids area are you?

I hear ya about reef envy....I think I might just go ahead and shut down my tank now after seeing your prop tanks. My display looks ridiculous (5 colonies total) compared to those :)

Just kidding but those are some amazing shots to see. It's one of those things that as a conservationist and marine scientist, I love to see that people are working to save all these corals and that the hobby is mainly centered around this. Too bad there is still some export/import of endangered corals.

here's my 85gal frag tank...the pics were taken last year when i first set it up (i built it all myself :D)

but right now i'm not sure if I should get rid of my sandbed....I don't think it's doing any good....it's fairly shallow (1" to 2" at the most)...

anyone have any comments re: a shallow sandbed in a prop tank? is there any benefit?

Zach

You guys have some really nice frag tanks! I'll have some pics of my setup next week. I'm still waiting on my skimmer and lights.

Hi Marv

Thought you might like to see my set up for frags. Three tier with sump. Frag room is in a partitioned part of my garage. I built the electrical panel to control everything. Auto top up of tanks and auto top up of top up resevoir with RO. Room is heated to the same temp as the water to minimise evaporation. Dehumidifier keeps humidity at about 58%. Two powerheads in each tank which alternate every 10 minutes automatically to vary flow.
Any questions fire away !

Rich :)

:)

Oh, yes, they are indeed T5 units
