Y'all see what I did there?

As I'm nearing the end of the current food I have for my tank I wanted to see what other members are using.

My current fish stock is 1 yellow tang, 2 clowns, 1 chromis (he'll get some friends soon), a diamond goby, and a hand full of crabs and snails, very coral heavy. My filtration is pretty simple, Cheato, live rock, inline filter bag with carbon, skimmer, and a uv sterilizer on the return pump.

My feeding schedule is much better than during the summer time. Right now I feed 1 frozen cube of Hikiri Bio Pure Mysis Shrimp, Marine Cuisine, or Emerald Entree. This gets mixed with 2 spoons of Reef Chili. On the weekends I will toss some New Life Spectrum pellets or Instant Ocean Marine Chips aka flakes.

In the past I've added some Brightwell's food to the frozen food or dumped some in when the lights go out.

What seems to be the new craze in food? I really like the Bio Pure stuff because when it's thawed out the water doesn't look cloudy or nasty. It thaws very very clean.

I'm really liking the LRS foods the Reef Frenzy and Herbivore Frenzy. They're both very clean. A little pricey but my fish love it. As far as pellets go I like the Elos Svm2 and NLS.

I've also heard good things about Nutramar Ova, especially for mandarins.

I was at the critter a week or so ago and looked for some LRS food but didn't see any. I'm going to try and swing by AC Tuesday before heading home and see if any has come in.

Yeah they haven't had any in a couple weeks, I'm not sure if he's shipping any more out until after the first of the year. If you want to try some swing by next weekend and I'll give you a sample to try.

PE mysis is a favorite frozen for me. Also Otohime pellets for dry food.

I have some Herbivore Frenzy I would let you try, I'm low on Reef Frenzy been trying to get some more for weeks! PE Mysis is pretty good too.

I feed half a sheet of nori a day and half a cube of misis or brine. Whenever I think about it I their in some flake. Can't get much to touch pellets in my tank. Got a big blue hippo, pair of clowns, pair of chromis, blenny, yellow tang, dragon goby, mandarin, file fish, and a coral beauty. Got a pretty good coral stock going now also. Feed reef chili 2-3 times a week and dose reef energy couple times a week. Everything seems to be doing good and growing.

thats perfect actually. my yellow tank is picky, he want touch any nori unless is in a specific spot, even then he may not touch it

Where are you getting your Nori at? Do you add any garlic to it at all?

Got the nori at the critter. It is pricey at $20 for 25 sheets but all my fish eat it like they haven't eaten in weeks. I do not add garlic. Not really sold on it and never had picky fish.

My tangs like the Julian Sprung's Purple Seaweed, Emerald Bay East carries it. You can try some of that too if you'd like. I change up my nori with purple and green and sometimes mix. I rarely use garlic but when I do I usually just soak pellets in it.

Paul.. just fyi. Brine shrimp have very little nutritional value unless they are gut loaded and sf bay does not do that. Mysis are good with hiraki and pe mysis the best. I am feeding pe mysis and lrs reef frenzy. Drove to Atlanta to get it a few weeks ago.

Ova's pretty much an instant hit with any fish, but extremely helpful for dragonets.

My fish don't like PE mysis as much as the hikari mysis. ..and for some reason my anthias prefer the nls small fish pellets more than most frozens!

Hey friends!

I sm sorry if the AC was out of stock of our foods. I sent all 100+ stocking retailers an email explaining that Fed Ex shuts down on the Wednesday for Christmas and the following Wednesday for New Years Day. This totally messed us up for our normal 2 day ground shipments. Hopefully they will get an order in ASAP so you guys can restock.

I heard back from Chris at AC and there was a mix up. They thought the food was already ordered and it was not, and also the staff has been feeding a lot more of our food to the fish so they blew through it. There is a big order of LRS on the way for delivery Jan 8th.

Funny you mention that Lindsey. I just learned thata couple of days ago. I was reading an article on mandarins and ran across one about the lack of nutrition in brine. I only have5 or 6 cubes left so I am going to use it up and buy only mysis from now on. I am going to try the lrs food when it comes in to the critter. Thanks for the heads up. I need all help I can get, lol.
