Lfs selling high tds Rodi water?

I was having an algae problem. Someone on her said my LFS might be selling me bad water. I got a $13 tds meter today and tested it out.
My faucet 150
My britta 97
Lfs 59
Store water out of the machine for $.35 = 28
Maybe I should get the zero water pitcher for the time being or Rodi buddy?

Zero water will be a waste of money.. go ahead and get a complete RO/DI system. I would get a water report for your area, even though it has a lower initial cost the RO buddy might not be the best choice if they are using chloramines to treat your water as you will need multiple carbon blocks before the membrane to produce acceptable water.

They can hook up to a faucet in bathroom or kitchen. Just hooked it up when u plan on using it. Or u can hook it up under the sink to cold water. And leave it under cabinet

4 stages may or may not work thats why I suggested getting a water report. I don't have room for one either so I mounted my 8 stage system to a small hand cart and I store it in a closet until its needed. I have a adapter that fits my kitchen sink spigot.

I have a four stage system from BRS and it came with an adapter so I can hook it up t my kitchen sink faucet. It’s super easy and I just attach it when I need to make water.

If you are in SoFlo, I know a guy that might have a used RODI for a really good price.

Get more then a 4 stage, you do not want to go cheap on a rodi. You can crash your entire tank by using bad rodi water. Also the aquaticlife rodi are garbage and filters do not last as all I was always replacing them early. I went with a 200 gpd brs 7 stage. Get a 5 stage atleast for the protection. There are much better options out there than aquatic life.

Holy crap how bad is your source water to need 8 stage Franken-RODI to clean it up?

The biggest issue is we have Chloramines, so I have 3 carbon blocks for that and to save money on resin I have 3 stages of DI.. anion, cation and mixed bed. Not to concerned about what my RO system looks like for me it's all about a healthy happy reef

it dosent look like they use chloramine so a 4 stage may be ok to start, I would skip the RO buddy and get a system that uses standard 10" canisters so you can upgrade it if necessary in the future by just adding onto your current system.

Also what should I do in the mean time? Brs does not have any in Stock! Should I just buy it at the grocery stores at the machine for 35 cents?
