Oh no!I bought a pair. Mistake. One ripped the other to shreds the first night. Does better alone or in threes.

A few months ago I got a very young beautiful tailspot blenny and I saw him the first two days and never saw him again...not sure what happened to him... I know he did not jump out. A mystery to me.Got to be careful, Slipknotgrrl83...I didn't get a second ff because if they are not of opposite sex, they will tear each other apart...and its impossible to sex them...believe me, I asked a lot of ff people...not recommended. Mine, very gradually, seems to be coming out during the day...just a little...and always eats...does better with the actinic...I have a tailspot blenny in QT...when he enters the DT, I hope that they will hang out some...![]()
Same thing happened to me with my royal blue gramma, was out for a week then disappeared. He also didn't jump out, I am guessing he perished somwhere in the rockworkA few months ago I got a very young beautiful tailspot blenny and I saw him the first two days and never saw him again...not sure what happened to him... Did you QT?...could have had a bugA few months ago I got a very young beautiful tailspot blenny and I saw him the first two days and never saw him again...not sure what happened to him... I know he did not jump out. A mystery to me.

No QT. He looked fine, was eating, moving around the rock work for 2 days, and disappeared.Did you QT?...could have had a bug![]()

I agreeYou were not lucky, Ed...No matter what, I believe that QT is what we must do...fish too often come with something unnoticeable crap...can sink the whole tank...![]()

Freddie the firefish has changed his ways...out nearly all the time...everything in this hobby, as we all know, is a matter of patience...My purple firefish comes out to eat...he's out most of the evening when only actinics are on...during the day with my Innovative Marine Skylights on, he seems to go into his crevice and stay there until he gets hungry...this is a Fusion10...nobody is bothering him and he seems perfectly healthy...are ff particularly sensitive to higher, white light?...all else seems fine with him...what you think?...I know that they are shy, but this guy appears to be photosensitive...any ideas to encourage him to stay out more?...Thanks...![]()

Possibly, or they just may recognize him as a dartfish. Oftentimes dartfish will ise any hole or burrow around, even if it is already occupied by a watchman. The firefish is out more than ever...it just changed...but...my two ywg's now give him a shove it seems if he ventures too close to their territory...I'm thinking that it may be related to mating...the ywg's may be a mail and female and don't want the ff near them if that's what's going on...any comments or ideas?![]()
Its only a 10gal., but the ff has always had his own area, and the ywg's have their own little cave on the other side...it seems that the ywg's territory is expanding...time will tell...Possibly, or they just may recognize him as a dartfish. Oftentimes dartfish will ise any hole or burrow around, even if it is already occupied by a watchman.
