Limited Edition corals?

Limited Edition= a car they only made 100 of period. There wont EVER be anymore. Corals reproduce so its not limited. The only coral in my book that may be worthy of the LE tag would be the Sopranos very very few people have them and those that do can barely keep them alive. Frags are extremely hard to come by if you can even find them at all

Because I have corals that are "limited edition" that were frags from other people... And I have also given frags to others of the same... It grows and is not limited to just some... There is no limited amount that can be reached

Buth theoredicly it can be remade so its not limited edition. If it can be reproduced how can it be called LE under your theory.

You can not make Exseptions for one thing thats still our there it grows under the op's statment. Also a car can be reproduced.

LE is a tag from a reputable coral agriculturist and collector stating that out of thousands of corals he (Tyree) has seen throughout the years. These are the most beautiful in his opinion, plus there are limited quantity of the species. I think if you like LE stuff and agree with him then collect LE corals otherwise dont buy them.

So in your terms nothing in our world is LE?? Anything can be remade but legally not really if a company limits something and someone remakes it without written consent your in a world of trouble

So bc Steve or Jason say its limited does that mean it is? 1000's of corals are imported daily lol some by private collectors selling locally so its not limited bc the quantity is unknown. For example i have a resale cert. and a tax id thats all you need to buy wholesale so theres tons of people getting corals in not just LFS's

Wow this is amazing. Anything can be reproduced now a days. Anything. From LE cars to books to whatever. The only thing stopping people from reproducing things is the legality aspect. Even the "blown glass" could be reproduced exactly as you made it. Would it be hard to match the color exactly maybe, but with the right equipment it can be done. So "Limited Edition" is a BS term any way you look at it. We should all protest for the definition to be changed lol.

I am lost here on what you are trying to say. Did you read and understand what I was saying in the post that you quoted ? I am saying that a living item. IE coral can not be a limited edition... because there is not a finite amount that could be had.

Finite - Limited or restricted in nature. Finite has an end

Yep you are right here. But I did add a clarifying statement.... Copy Rights... And yes it is a BS statement to use "Limited Edition" My point here.

Well you tried to say that LE is somthing that can not be replaced or duplicated. I have yet to find somthing like that thus making LE something of fiction.

I agree with you 10000%. We the end comsumer have allowed a few to use terms that are not correct and to place high $$ on items that they can not prove is a "limited edition"... It might be a limited supply that they have. Or will be a slow release to keep the price high. That I can go with... But its sure is not a LE.

So you would prefer that vendors put "Limited quantity until more grows" Tyree Setosa??? Do you understand that you're caught up on the wording... If you go through life worrying about the fine wording of everything you'll go nuts!!!

How about this example. Fire Exits have a glowing sign that says "EXIT" but its not an "exit" unless there's a fire...should the whole world change the signs to say, "Exit, but only if there is a fire."

You think colony's like the my miami and pink ******* are coming in every box...yea right. I've worked at a fish store before and with every shipment we got (approx. 10 boxes per shipment) there was maybe 1 coral that I would even consider putting in my tanks with all the other LIMITED EDITION stuff!

Like the old saying goes, If you like it buy it, otherwise pass it up. Who is anyone to say what the next person does is right or wrong, you as a person just have the choice if that is right or wrong for you.
