They are all looking good! I love the stylo in particular. They have such good color.

With all these sticks you have now, how are you planning on managing Ca and Alk? What are you going to use for testing?

My dkh is at 8.0 today, and I'm going to measure again in 24 hours to see how much it is dropping a day. I neglected to get a calcium test kit but they've only been in there a day so I don't think the calcium levels would have dropped much yet.

Are you planning on just doing water changes to get the levels up or go with two part?

I'm going to start with water changes, but I have been looking in to dosing two part or maybe trying the kalkwasser in ATO route.

24 hour change in dkh was -.3

I'm going to do a water change today and then do another 24 hour test sequence to see if it's a consistent change after the water change.

When I bought them I figured if I only needed one I could save the other one for another tank that I am planning in the future when our basement is finished. I am already starting a "big tank" savings fund even as I'm building out this tank. [emoji28]

LOL! FYI there is always "the bigger tank plan". You could have 500 gallons -- but then you will get an idea for something bigger/different. It is part of the fun. Love the photos. I'll be following this one.

I purchased a used GHL 2 4 pump doser that should be arriving next week. I want to start dosing a 2 part solution and then maybe convert one of the remaining pumps to an ATO.

Any suggestions for dosing solutions would be appreciated. I'm considering BRS two part and brightwell reef code system. After watching the BRS video on dosing it's hard to argue against the cost saving sof the BRS solutions, even if you had to add the coral colors kit for trace elements. I've always liked the idea of the reef code being a true standalone 2 part solution.

I like BRS two part. Economical and works well.

I would generally advise to not use a doser for ATO duty since the evap rate changes over the year. A dedicated ATO system is pretty affordable and worth its weight in gold.

I'm using the Avast ATO which is rock solid.

The tank is coming along! You just dropped some dough on those frags, so I would get an ATO set up quick to keep it stable.

I have an ATO on there already, but it's an old airtube style float switch AT-1 tsunami so I'm worried about reliability. I was looking at a tunze osmolator because I like the idea of a sensor with a float switch back up, but since I was going to have an extra pump on the ghl I was going to look at maybe trying the ATO function with one of the extra pump heads.

I also like the idea of adding the topoff water in smaller increments over a longer period of time. I feel like my current setup dumps a whole bunch of freshwater in at once. I know I can get a smaller pump to transfer water slower, but again, since I'll have the ghl with the extra pump heads anyways, I figured I'd at least look into that.

I'm not sure if Lincoln appreciates all the coral frags because they don't really move much to grab his attention, but I definitely notice him looking around the tank more and not just following the fish.

He does definitely take an interest in the clam.

Purchased the Intank surface skimmer pieces that go over the overflow portions of the IM 30L. It allows you to raise the water level a bit in the tank and allowed me to add an additional gallon or so of water.

I like making the gap at the top of the tank smaller by raising the water level as well as adding a bit more water volume.

I like them. It raised the water level of the tank nicely and they are removable if I decide I don't like them in the future. The one downside is that the clip holding them on does interfere a bit with my screen top.

Seems nice. I'm curious to see what you do with the screen top. It could be good to help anemones not go down the overflow too.

It doesn't interfere too much, but the clips are definitely big enough where any sort of notching solution wouldn't really work without compromising the integrity of the frame. Supposedly you can use them without the clips and the force of the water being drawn through will keep them in place, but I like them being more secure with the clips.

It's not too bad though. I don't have any super serious jumpers or escape artist fish (knock on wood)

Yeah, the water pressure should hold the surface skimmer in place, thats how the surface skimmer on my JBJ Nanocube 24 works.

I wonder if you could rig up a magnet system to hold them in place.

I adjusted the white balance on my phone's camera to get a better color representation of what the tank actually looks like to the eye.
