Does anyone have a camera set up to view their tank while out of town? Do you get good video? If so what camera do you use/filters?

I use blink cameras to view my tanks when away from home. I do have to put a filter on them to see really well, as the blue light blows it out some.
I know @LRT uses wyse cameras. I have used them in the past as well, but had to do a filter on them. Not sure if he does, so will let him answer that. For reference, here is one of my 180s and then the fish barn overview. Both are just screenshots on my phone, so look a little weird lol.
No filter on the little cam in the fish barn for an overview.
Filter on the one for the 180, but it is at an angle and there is an area of the camera taped off, so only the tank is viewed. This is why there is a blueish surround on the image.

I do use cheap 20 dollar wyze cam from Petsmart. They get awesome top down views. And figured out if I strap a glare filter over the camera lens on front of cam it gets super true to life video. Trick is finding correct placement in front of tank. Once I found my placement I marked my floor where tri pod legs sit so I can move around if need be.

I just realized how close I am to Eagleville. I definitely heard of College Grove but didn’t realize Eagleville was just south of 840. looks good, I always dread leaving town. Usually something bad happens. I figured if I got a camera it might spook the vacation boogie man away.

I travel with work from time to time, so these help me walk the wife through anything she cannot handle. They are also great for just looking in while on random conf calls or spamming @LRT build thread lol.

I have v2 version I picked up at Pet Smart. I think I paid $24 for mine but you can find package deals on Amazon for alot cheaper. I use a zip tie to hold glare lens on front of cam but there are some 3d printing reefers here that make a holder that holds lens in front of camera optical.

Besides tag spamming you constantly its also great for developing another addiction in just watching cam all day. Im technically at work 9 hrs a day. But spend 4hrs of that chatting it up here and the another 4 watching wyze cam feed hahaha

Didnt waste any time lol. That is what I am talking about!!!!!!! Did not even have to really enable. @LRT is probably sad now, as he really like to enable people.

Ahhh Fudge! Should I return it. It doesn’t say V2 but I saw one that had V2 on the box. This was more expensiveOh man didn't know they made one like that. Interested to see how it looks!

Yeah I had to install app from play store. Took all of about 5 minutes or so to get online. Whats cool is you can share viewing permissions with wife in case your phone dies you always have that added cushion of addiction support if you needed hahaha.
I came in here to enable but have a feeling I'm going to leave enabled to pick up the version you got hahahaha
