New system mid cycle here in queens. I had a reef a few years ago so not brand new but I feel brand new re-learning everything. R2R is a lifesaver and beyond helpful

My ammonia is a little high my salt is 1.024 nitrate and nitrite is good just tested all this morning

Bought some fish yesterday all looking good I lost 1 Picasso clown not happy about that trying to get another

You really shouldn't be putting any fish in a tank with ammonia in it.

yes im in garden city. dont rush the tank cause you will have a bad experience from the bigening. Dont add fish untill all the levels are correct. Amonia high is not a good thing

The tank has been running for 7 weeks ammonia was good did water change and was good checked this morning and just a little high

How much rock and/bio media do you have and what size system?

I have about 30 lbs of live rock

If the tank has cycled already, and you are reading ammonia after the fact after introducing fish, your rock may not have enough surface area for bacteria to process the ammonia. Maybe look into those marine pure blocks or something? Just an idea
