Long Islanders?

Tusi is right regarding ammonia. We all know how hard it is to go slow when you are first starting but that is the best advice you can get. Nothing good happens fast in a reef tank.

If you live in Corem you should check out Tropical Island in Deer Park. They are great for livestock. Pets Warehouse in Lindenhurst is there best location. And I'm sure you already know about Aqua Hut on 25.

Best thing you can do is post a complete set of tank parameters. Aqua hut is in Corum also Carribean Blue is located in Bay Shore. I have had good experiences at both places. I am out in Shoreham.

If the tank has cycled already, and you are reading ammonia after the fact after introducing fish, your rock may not have enough surface area for bacteria to process the ammonia. Maybe look into those marine pure blocks or something? Just an idea
Is there a place where I can pick up some r/o water

Having your own R.O. is much more cost effective and convenient. That said, you could try calling Pets Warehouse in Setauket for R.O. water.
