Long time fish keeper - first time marine/reefer. Am I crazy?

Hey gang, I've been snooping around forums for months and decided that I want to be one of you. Long story short I got a 300 gallon aquarium from my dentist (he was going to throw it away). Pic attached. So I've spent the past few months selling my cichlids and several of my other aquariums and I'm going to get into saltwater. I've already found a lot of value in these forums, but I would love to connect with anyone who is in the greater Salt Lake City area to get some ideas and ask some questions. Anyone up for fielding a lot of potentially basic questions for a noob?

I'm in Salt lake. I only do pico tanks not large ones so I don't know how much I can advise. This site is great though. There is also: utahreefs.com for the local reef club and its members.

Check out the BRS TV 52 Weeks of reefing videos as well, great info for beginers.

Funny you should mention that 52 weeks of reefing series, that is what gave me the salt water bug. I wonder if I could send Ryan at BRS a bill for what that series is going to cost me!

That series is AWESOME. Crazy how fast things change though. Check out the BRS/WWC series as well. The 52 weeks of reefing one, in particular, suggested some pretty pricey solutions to some of the more mundane issues you'll face
