Looking for a super quiet return pump

I use a DCT 4000 at about 50% and it is absolutely silent. If you want to stay cheap try another jebao. If your going to spend money go a reef octopus.

Maybe mine is making noise since I have it set so low. I assumed slower = quieter, but I'll test it out after work.

I have a Vectra L2 and it is virtually silent. I know they are a bit spendy compared to your current pump although I think you could get away with a S2 or M2 which would drive the cost down considerably.

Thanks for the reply! Are any of those compatible with the Vortech battery backup? Might make a compelling case since I have 2 MP10's and the battery backup already..

I don't know about the 4.0 but the Sicce 3.5 is not quiet at all. I have a Tunze 1073.050 running right now and it's less noisy, there's still a hum. I don't think you can get away from that until you get into the super premium pumps mentioned earlier.

I’m hooked on DC pumps . I have a 1050 eflux flow pump and very happy with it. I am not used to not hearing pumps on a larger tank . They don’t burn as much electricity and I have mine hooked up to blue tooth controller where I can just ramp it down when I feed !
The price point was great too!

After running over the weekend it's starting to get a little quieter. The sound doesn't bother me and thankfully my wife is ok with the general "white noise" of the whole setup! :D

No whining noise? I have a new DCT 4000 in the box, but it's exactly the same product as a Simplicity it was to replace which whines like crazy!
