I’m looking into getting a wrasse because they have caught my eyes these last time I went to my LFS but which one do u guys suggest because I have 1 clown fish in my tank right now and it has to be reef safe

Do you have a lid? All wrasses I’ve owned (coris, melanus, sixline, mystery) like to jump. I can’t pick a favorite because each is unique in their own way as far as temperament, what pests they eat, etc. the ones I mentioned are reef safe for me. Good luck

I like a coris wrasse.they are pretty hardy and not to expensive.please remember rule number 1 about wrasse.they are jumpers so a tight lid, canopy or netting is needed to keep them contained in the tank.

Well then I guess I’m going to have to get me a lid first then lol

Go to home depot and ask for lighting defuser I think it’s $13 for a piece and cut it to fit your tank. But, I think a flasher wrasse would be a good fit. They are colorful and active. Here a picture she’s in the middle in between the fire fish and lepoard wrasse.

Can a flasher really thrive in such a small experiment? I’d love to hear some feedback because I’d be stoked to have one my my 30 cube.

You might want to make sure that screen is reef safe and will not degrade around salt water. If not, BRS sells screening that is.

Ok I’ll ask around to see what people say thanks

i would personally leave no room between tank and screen. wrasse can jump out of tanks from the small places imaginable.

But I don’t have a sump so my wires from my tank get in between the lid and the tank

I hate to be the one to tell you this but as a wrasse lover i must say something. A 20g is to small for a C.solorensis the minimum size tank I believe is a 75g and the flasher wrasse is a 55g.
