I would like to find someone that has these small white starfish they would like to get rid of.

...11 months ago I had more than 1000 in my tank, and they were stripping the purple from my rocks.

...so I got a Harlequin Shrimp, and now not a single one to be seen, and the shrimp is suffering. Need to find some if this shrimp is going to continue life with me.

Anyone in the Tampa/Orlando Florida area, I would be willing to pick up so you wouldn't have to pack and ship.

I had to open this to read, I didn't expect this!

#reefsquad - do any of you know of anything else they eat?

I have hundreds of them and boy are they coralline strippers! Sorry I am on the other side. Good luck!

Nope, no starfish they will starve.
Many ppl keep a large sand shifter in the sump and once a week they cut a little of a leg (don't worry it will grow back) as it will eat that.
Always keep asterinas in the sump when you have a Harley as a back up.

Those that I know that have Harlequins purchase chocolate chip starfish and slowly pluck arms off the starfish to feed the shrimp.

I had the same issue and now I just go to my LFS and buy a cheap chocolate chip starfish I keep in my sump. When I see the harlequin shrimp, I take a leg off the starfish and feed him. I'd rather feed him then get rid of him, such a cool little predator.

I know there are some very large lfs in the area. Maybe try going there and asking if they have any on live rock.
That is a good idea, but more of a short term idea as the ideas above are a longer term strategy if you know what I mean.

For now though it might work! :)

True but if the harlequin has gone a long time without then it may be useful. But I agree getting a chocolate chip star is what I've seen done by others keeping harlequins. Just a thought. :)

If you have a pair of the Hawaiian Harley's you better have a few starfish in your sump.
I get the very large sand shifters for wholesale from my LFS as he won't sell them any way as to most hobbyist they ain't cute.

They are super cool. I love the way they "box" while moving. As mentioned, get you a chocolate chip and keep him in the sump.

I'm in Orlando and could let you have all the ones we can catch. Probably around 20-30. PM me if interested.

Those stars are still for sale on eBay..... no joke. Just search "Live tiny starfish" it will come up.

The crazy part is that it's for 7 of them!!! [emoji33][emoji33][emoji33][emoji33]
