Earmuff wrasse availability

I've been looking for more than a year for one! Are they seasonal? No online vendor I can find is selling one now, or has since divers den 06/14 that I missed.

Anyone have one or have advice on locating one?

They are available year round, just not with the frequency of other wrasses. I know of 2 stores in my area that each had 1 in the last month. Best bet may be to work with an LFS in your area to bring one in.

Contact Marco at Exotic Reef Creations. He can usually get you whatever you want & quarantines the fish first for several weeks.

Still looking! If anyone sees one I can buy online or near indiana please let me know!

Mods, please merge with my thread "ear muff wrasse availability", this title is much more relevant.

If anyone has any information on where to get one or sees one available or online, is willing to ship, or whatever, I will throw you some cash for the "finders fee" via PayPal.

I've been looking for over one year without any luck! I always miss them :/

Quality gets those in sometimes, so LADD is probably gonna be your best bet.

Still looking, if anyone stumbles in to one I'll pay you a ten dollar finders fee via pay pal! I've looked everywhere!

Diver's Den had a couple the past year or so but they go rather quickly. Best to check their Facebook page to see what they're posting that day and be ready with the phone in hand when the updates it.

I watch divers den like a hawk

They're selling everywhere except where I can see them! They are apparently popping up as people are posting on various groups and forums about them. WHERE??!!

Finders fee! Will send you $20 if you help me locate one or more!

Okay guys,

I have been looking for Earmuff Wrasse (Cheekspot wrasse, or black ear wrasse) for over two years!

Scientific names = Halichoeres Melasmapomus AND Halichoeres Xanti.

I am willing to pay a $20 finders fee to anyone that can find me any earmuff wrasse, $30 for a male, and $30 for more than one earmuff wrasse. I am happy to buy 2-4.

(Divers Den is excluded from the search because I know what is available each day and I have checked every day for the past two years. Chances are if you find it for me there, I already bought it or know about it :D)

I know in this hobby, many of you have made many connections with multiple vendors, and this is not a fish that makes it on any "list" they often sell immediately. I have seen people in other groups and forums posting about how they just found one at an LFS, so they are in distribution in the past 30 days.

Help a fellow fish nerd out!

I will paypal you cash immediately upon delivery of the fish you find for me.

Thanks Guys!

Dang :p

here he was

Shipwreck Cove gets them fairly often. Try contacting Dan and tell him what you are looking for. I know he goes and handpicks his fish from the wholesalers.

Bump everyone! Easy money if you have connections and adds instant horsepower! :D

Do they have a Facebook or anything?
